Admissions

NCBC is one of the most affordable college programs in an effort to help students graduate debt-free.

Learn more about what it means to transfer to NCBC from another college. NCBC accepts units from many other universities. You can earn a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, take courses for a Certificate, or audit for personal enrichment.

High School students that have completed the equivalent of ninth grade can begin taking classes for college credit. They will take a placement test to show college readiness.

NCBC welcomes you! It is your time to shine. Our faculty and educators are ready to assist you in your next step into your future and calling.

application process

The Application Process is simple and can be done online in minutes!

1. Fill out the online Application Form

2. The application will be reviewed typically within 24 hours. Upon filling out and submitting the application form, you will receive confirmation from Populi (NCBC’s student management system) of your acceptance by means of a login code. This will enable you to then go on to Populi to register for your classes (check out the Live and Distance Courses and Instructions on How to Register for Classes on Populi.)

3. If you are a degree or certificate-seeking student you will be asked to submit all transcripts (can be completed during your first quarter at NCBC) and pay a $50 application fee. Auditing students who are taking courses for personal enrichment (not for college credit) will not need to provide any documentation or application fee.

4. Please have all transcripts sent to admissions@ncbc.net

WHAT OTHERS HAVE BEEN SAYING ABOUT NCBC

My personal association with NCBC since 1971 has allowed me to become involved in the lives of numerous students who have impacted their generation for Christ. Many of our graduates have planted churches, labored on the mission field, served in staff positions at their church, or taught in one of the many venues of Christian Service. A major shift in purpose occurred in 1999, when NCBC went online and developed an off-site distance-learning program…

For over 50 years we have tried to maintain an evangelical yet contemporary approach to the study of the Bible, while believing in the present-day activity of the Holy Spirit. If you are sensing the call to increase your biblical knowledge, or perhaps ‘tool-up’ for a future career in ministry, Northern California Bible College can help provide you with a strong biblical foundation at a very reasonable price.

David Sell, Emeritus President

“This past summer nine of our faculty continued their biblical education at NCBC, while also earning CEUs to satisfy their requirements with A.C.S.I.”

Jeri Schall, Former Principal, Valley Christian Elementary, Dublin, CA

“I want to thank you for this fascinating study. Quite honestly, I was not looking forward to listening to 24 CDs, but after the first one I was ‘hooked.’”

Kelli Mori, Modesto, CA

“Given family and work demands, finding time to study and extend one’s knowledge of the scripture is probably a large challenge for many folks, as it has been for me. But with NCBC’s off-site learning program, it has allowed me the opportunity and flexibility to continue with my desire to continue studying the word of God. All the courses taken to date have far exceeded my expectations, and the topics and lectures have been terrific. In summary, the learning has been great and having a Bible college within reach has been a major convenience. With my daily commute time to work averaging one hour each way, I have also been able to take advantage of these uproductive driving periods to listen to the lrsson while I meditate on the words. Typically, I would listen to the same CD three to four times during the course of the week’s driving; during the weekend time to write up the assignments.”

What is required to become a student?

The main qualification to become a student at NCBC is a strong desire to learn God’s word.

Students may show their readiness for undergraduate or certificate level college courses by providing a high school diploma, GED, military service record (JST), or previous college transcript. These students may immediately register for their first class without a placement exam. These students should submit a transcript from their highest educational institution. All military persons should submit a JST (this will also provide proof of Veterans eligibility at NCBC.)

Students over the age of 18 without a GED or high school diploma may enroll in the undergraduate or certificate programs. Concurrent Enrollment high school students attending a full-time high school or home school students that have completed the equivalent of ninth grade may also enroll in NCBC’s undergraduate college-level or certificate programs. These students will have to take an internal Placement Test to show their college readiness. This test is 40 minutes and 100 questions (it is similar to the Wonderlic Ability to Benefit exam). A score of over 50% in English and in Math will show college readiness. Concurrent Enrollment high school students will be limited to 12 units per quarter.

All students who take the first course for credit are required to achieve at least a “C” grade, as evidence of their competency to continue with the program. Graduate Programs require a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited US college or university.

NCBC offers Guidance Counseling

Proper guidance is available to each student who aims toward completing either a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies, Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies, or a Certificate in Biblical Studies. Students may email or call the office to make an appointment with one of our guidance counselors. The meeting will consist of a review of all transferred credits, required courses, ministerial objectives, and courses yet to be taken to achieve the student’s ultimate educational objective.

Where are the on-site locations?

Live classes are taught throughout the East and South Bay Area. The Upcoming LIVE Classes page will specify where each class will be held. Check out all of our locations. Additionally, many NCBC classes can be taken through distance learning at any time throughout the year on the convenience of your laptop in your own location.

What if I am an international student?

Should an individual for whom English is not their first language and without a high school diploma apply, this student is required to take the TOEFLiBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language internet Based Test) and achieve a score of 90 out of 120 or higher. This requirement is in addition to the other requirements listed in this policy. Many of our students live internationally and still take distance courses.

NCBC does not admit foreign students who do not already have a legitimate visa to enter the United States, and NCBC does not offer any visa services of any kind.

How do I prepare for after NCBC?

We work toward making the transfer of your credits successful if you plan on pursuing more education. We believe our responsibility includes helping you every step of the way in your academic future. Our Registrar’s office is always available for counseling on how to get the transfer credit you deserve when you decide to continue your education. NCBC provides academic guidance counseling upon request to help students know which classes they need to complete in order to fulfill their education goals.
